Turning on Thunderbird SSL

1. Launch Mozilla Thunderbird.
2. Click on Tools and select Accounts Settings. (For Linux computers Click on Edit and select Account Settings)

1. In the left pane, click on Outgoing Server (SMTP).  Verify the configuration matches the settings below:
• Server Name: smtp.ndsu.nodak.edu
• Port: 587
• Use name and password: box is checked
• User Na me: <your IID>
• Use Secure Connection: TLS

In the left pane, under the name of the account you wish to modify, select Server Settings. In the right pane, find the setting for Server Type. 

• Configure the settings to match those listed below:
1. Server Name: imap.ndsu.nodak.edu
2. Port: 993
3. User Name: <your IID>
4. Use secure connection (SSL): box is checked
5. Use secure authentication: box is unchecked

• Click the OK button.
