The Power and Energy Systems group conducts research in areas including dynamics, stability and control of bulk power system to time delays computational algebraic geometry based methods for voltage stability assessment and non-convex polynomial optimization robust control methods with FACTS controllers renewable energy (wind and photovoltaic (PV) ): areas of interest are grid integration of DFIG wind farms, time series analysis techniques for wind speed/wind power forecasting  and optimal power conditioning strategies for PV integration.
