BioengineeringHeart

The bioengineering group conducts research in two tracks -

  • Cardiovascular (CV) Engineering - focusing on the development of algorithms and computational models to describe cardiac function

  • Neural Engineering - focusing on Brain Computer Interface (BCI)

Signal Processing and Communication  Signal Processing image

The group is active in the areas of multi-rate signal processing, real-time signal processing, software defined radio, statistical signal processing, time-frequency analysis, and wireless communications. Recent projects include the hardware and software development of various electrochemical impedance spectrometry instruments and algorithm development for a pulse-doppler blood flow meter.

Electromagnetic's (EMAG) EMAG image
and Photonics

The EMAG group is active in areas including antenna design for RFID, electromagnetic interference (EMI) effects, computational electromagnetics, and analysis, electrostatic discharge (ESD). The photonics lab is active in the modeling of polarization effects and receivers in optical fiber communications systems, photonics and the development of new laser sources for applications in biotechnology, defense, and atmospheric research.

Embedded Systems and Control Embedded Systems

The current research thrust of the lab is to develop models for RFID antennas for applications in the livestock industry.
