Senior Design Program
The senior design program here in the ECE department at NDSU is the capstone of our graduating undergraduate students. These projects are all completed by seniors in the program some in conjunction with students from other disciplines or graduate students. Each group is advised by at least one faculty member with experience or expertise in the area. Usually each project will have 2-4 ECE students working as a group. Our program is 3 semesters in length with ECE 401/403/405 in sequence each lasting one semester.
ECE 401
Focuses on teaching the design process and skills/tools needed to actually accomplish such a project.
ECE 403
Here is where the skills learned in 401 are first applied while the group decides how to approach the problem, learns to work as a team, outlines a plan to complete the project and begins work on a prototype.
ECE 405
This is where all the knowledge gained throughout the ECE curriculum is applied. Under the watchful eye of their advisor(s) students work towards a finished product.
